first impression: naked heat
Urban Decay never fails to create high quality, pigmented, creamy cosmetic products, and the most recent addition to their acclaimed Naked collection, Naked Heat, is certainly no exception. Let me be the first to tell you, Naked Heat is HOT. I purchased this palette about a week ago and have had enough time to play with all of the beautiful warm shades to come to the decision that this is my absolute favorite Urban Decay eyeshadow palette. I've always been a sucker for rusty, red brick, bronze, burnt shades, so of course I jumped on this palette as soon as I could. I kept my expectations low because there had been a bit of controversy about it, many people claiming that it contained duplicate shades. However, I have been nothing but in love.
First of all, let's just check out this packaging. Urban Decay typically never falls short of amazing when it comes to their aesthetically pleasing packaging, but this palette takes it to another level. The shadows are housed in a sturdy, high quality plastic bronze compact that feels nice and heavy in your hands. For $54, you get twelve .05 oz shadows, a full-sized mirror, and a dual-ended eyeshadow brush. Totally worth it.
The colors are highly pigmented and blend incredibly well. With the perfect balance of mattes and shimmers, you have all of the necessary shades for each component of your eye makeup. The shades have a surprisingly low amount of fallout considering how dusty they appear in the pan and swatches. I love the versatility in this palette because you could easily create a simple, matte neutral look or jazz it up with a burnt smoky eye. Overall, I give this palette a solid 10/10 and cannot wait to create more looks with it.
